Many stories are told about the iconic township of Alexandra. Now we invite you to come Explore Alex on Foot and write your own story. Along the route, you will pass many places of worship that held the township together during difficult times, entertainment hubs that have over the years drawn many first-time visitors to Alex and sports facilities that have nurtured talents, producing stars who have made their mark on the world.
Join us for a 5km and 10km, our 5km has many junior prize categories that will allow children of different ages to compete in different age categories.

An ambitious idea was born, to have a road race in one of South Africa's oldest townships, Alexandra. In 2023, we hosted the Find Your Fit Run at Alexandra Plaza. The idea was to encourage members of our community to stay healthy and keep fit while demonstrating to CGA and ASA that a road race can be held and organized in Alexandra. The 8km long even was hosted successfully, thus paving the way to the birth of one of CGA's favorite races.
The inaugural Adreach Alex 10k kicked off at Alexandra Plaza. It was another epic, sold out event. 32 minutes and 52 seconds later, Givemore Mudzinganyama of the Entsika Athletics Club won the Men's race. A few minutes later, in 38 minutes and 44 seconds, his wife, Nobukhosi Tshuma won the women's race.
The Adreach Alex 10K race had a new race venue. This time we assembled at the Altrec Sports Complex. It was another sold out affair as runners lined up to color the streets of Alex and tackle the Alex 10K route. The men's winner, Keann Domingo set a new course record in an incredible time of 32 minutes and 05 seconds. Tshegofatso Vocho won the women's race in an incredible time of 44 minutes and 54 seconds.
The Alex 10K race will take place at the Altrec Sports Complex. We are anticipating yet another sold out event where we will continue to cement our place in the CGA's race calendar and create beautiful memories with the running community.
